Riccardo Raul Papavero inherited from his mother, an established artist, his interest in art in all its forms. Travel to Europe, Africa and South America with the voracious curiosity of those who want to discover and learn about the art of diversity. The need to deal with new artistic expressions leads him to the realization of polymaterial collages: the beginning of the adventure takes place halfway between the game and chance. In 2003 the strenuous search for the poster of Buffalo 66, the niche film by Vincent Gallo, led him to wander around shops and surf the net, but, when he finally found it, it seemed static, impersonal, rather banal. He then decides to eviscerate Gallo’s film to revive it on wood. It selects, splits and decomposes the individual frames, reworking them into a collage that blends painting and digital printing, craftsmanship and new technologies. So the game becomes an indispensable passion and, with time, experimental laboratory. The first exhibition, in homage to the beginnings, is entitled “I.Vincent Gallo” and is successful in sales and criticism. The interesting research of materials and the continuous revolution of artistic concepts lead him to create strongly characterized works: the technique is refined, the materials are linked by harmony or contrast and the works seem to build themselves. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable in this alchemical game of transformation.
